Ok.. let us just end this here and now. I’m talking about the sillyness of MSN users and (L). In MSN, as opposed to for example iChat, you can change your whole name, not just your status. That doesn’t have much to do with the subject, though, because if people wanted it, they could have used AIM statuses the same way. Anyway.
In MSN, there are lots of smilies, and among them is (obviously) a heart. You can, incidentally, insert the heart by typing (L). This is where the trouble starts..
Now, for some reason, a lot of people have decided to use their name as an excellent spot to show their love to another person, and they do so by calling themself something (their name, usually), then adding (L) Name (L) at the end.
So lemme be the first (??) to ask.. what is up with that? Do the person they are in love with truly appreciate it? Has it become a thing that you “have to have” – if you don’t have it, you don’t really love the person?
Wouldn’t it be nicer if people said it to each other every once in a while than seeing it in a nick all the time? Sure, they probably say it too, but the whole thing seems just very flat to me. Meaningless. Kinda like celebrating Halloween in Norway which have no tradition nor reason (except commercal ones) for it.
OR it might be that I’m just jealous because I have noone to put there :) Naaaaah!
